This year’s recipients are Anthony Linares Roldan and Aztrid Nunez. The Lisa Parker Hurst High School Scholarshiprequires that the recipients graduate from one of four high schools in MountDiablo Unified School District and are entering an accredited four-year collegeand maintain a designated grade point average. This year’s Spotlight on You Scholarship isawarded to Marie Castillo for demonstrating particularly strong focus on hereducational goals that lead to a career path in her chosen field. This year’s recipients are Enrique BararjasFragoso, Andrew Braken, Christopher Hipolito, Whitney Hutapea, Cindy LopezCeja, Monica Nooori-Saghar, Jorge Parades, Selene Prado Rodriguez, SophiaScipi, Kearsten Simoni and Yingiun Tan. The Spotlight Scholarship, which is renewableeach year, is awarded to students who show particularly strong focus on theireducational goals that lead to a career path in their chosen fields. Scholarships awardees who are graduating fromContra Costa County Community Colleges and transferring to 4-year universities are Isabella Davis, Yijing Hu, Gerberth Lopez Mendez, and Socoro Tamayo-Perez. ![]() The 2020 Scholarships recipients from ContraCosta County high schools include Arine Kim, Jeana Lee, Kristen Ly, Kayla Munguia,Ngoc Nguyen, Abigail Rickli, Avery Rickli and Nanthaya Verweij.įoster Youth Scholarships are awarded toChristiana Aranda, Taylor Bazile, Miah Cole, Severine Crouse, Dwayna Dixon andKimberly Lechuga. Also absent wasScholarships recipients’ collective message, “…the emotional support that theywill cherish enhances the very much appreciated financial support.” ![]() Likewise,the awards ceremony where Scholarships recipients acknowledged the generosityof foundations, individual donors (chapter members included) and revenue earnedat the Assistance League ThriftShop at the Way Side Inn, the chapter’s primary fundraiser located inLafayette, were absent. However, the interview phase, which gives theScholarships Committee members invaluable insights as to how these aspiring anthropologists,engineers, nurses, performing artists and physicians have defied overwhelmingchallenges to realize their dreams, was absent due to the COVID-19 virus. Eachapplicant has expressed a desire to advance through education by maintaining adesignated grade point average, volunteering in campus and community projects,and charting an academic timeline.Īs inprevious years, worthy candidates documented both their academic and communityachievements with transcripts and letters of recommendation. Last but certainly not least, Ivan wants to give back to the community that has given him so much.Since1999, Assistance League ®of Diablo Valley’s Scholarships program, co-chaired by Lesley Salo and CindiSegale, has provided financial and emotional support to high school, communitycollege, university students and returnees to the academic community. Some of his goals are to collaborate with different Rotaract/Rotary clubs around the world, create friendships and promote networking with others clubs. ![]() During his term as President, Ivan hopes to lead the club towards a very successful year. Ivan enjoys watching movies, and series, as well as listening to music, and singing karaoke. Ivan likes to spend time outdoors, running, and hiking He loves to meet new people and hang out with his friends as much as possible. Ivan is beyond grateful to serve as President of the club for his second year, term 2022-2023. Ivan is one of the founding board members of DVR since its beginning, he has been devoted to increasing the number of members and participation in community service projects. Ivan has interests in Software Engineering, entrepreneurship, and political science. Ivan Hernandez is a Computer Science student at Diablo Valley College. ![]()
